Alyssa Rae was the first child of Bruce and Mary Johnson, who describe her as a beautiful baby with a sweet, soulful gaze. Diagnosed with omphalocele and in spite of many moments filled with hope for a longer life, Alyssa passed away after 20 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at SickKids. To honour Alyssa, the Johnsons set up a special fund where 100% of your donation benefits sick and injured children. The Alyssa Rae Johnson Fund supports high-priority needs at SickKids in the crucial areas of medical research, education, and patient care.

The fund reached its first $25,000 milestone in February 2014 during the first Motorcycle for Miracles ride. Bruce and then 12-year-old daughter Holly travelled from SickKids in Toronto, to Costa Rica, stopping at RE/MAX offices along the way and meeting countless new friends and supporters. They then expanded their vision of what was possible to $100,000…and met that goal at the end of 2015.

During the second Motorcycle for Miracles ride in 2016, Bruce and Holly rode across Canada. They rallied “Champion” agents and brokers, friends and family in support of SickKids Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network, and motored beyond their goal

Most recently in 2018, as Holly neared the end of high school, she embarked on her third and final fundraising journey with her Dad, following a very special route from the Arctic to Argentina dubbed “The Ends of the Earth Ride”. Once again they sped past their fundraising goals and to date, their epic adventures have raised over $700,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals throughout North America.
