The Carpe Omnia (Size Everything) - A KNCT1 Project is inspired by a superhero named Shaan. Shaan (pronounced Shawn) was born with a rare genetic condition called KNCT1. The condition is characterized by recurrent seizures, profound developmental delay, and intellectual impairment. Only 100 cases had been identified in the world when Shaan was born. Shaan suffers from 20-30 seizures per day that are not controlled by any medication. Shaan spent the first three months of life at The Hospital for Sick Children. Since then, he has had multiple admissions to the Hospital for Sick Children across the entire hospital for various medical complications. KCNT1 impacts various day-to-day functions, including movement, overall physical development (weak muscle tone), vision, ability to eat, and respiratory system.  The project name relates to his battle with everything, all the health complications he has due to seizures. Seize everything - Carpe Omnia

Shaan was born on April 19, 2017, and recently celebrated his 6th birthday. Shaan is a sneakerhead and has a great collection of shoes. He is adored and protected by his two little brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and medical team.

Without SickKids Hospital, Shaan would not be here. He was one of the first children to be prescribed medical cannabis for epilepsy. We are thankful for the front office team, nurses, and doctors at SickKids. This project aims to raise money in Shaan's name for rare and unknown diseases.  Please donate to the  Carpe Omnia (Size Everything) - A KNCT1 Project and help us reach our fundraising goal in support of SickKids families.

Thank you for your generosity.
