From The Hip Concert for SickKids

From the Hip is quickly becoming Toronto’s most authentic Tragically Hip tribute band. Formed in 2018, the band has been playing shows throughout the GTA. The band features the talented musicians CJ Ashley, Gianluca Mauro, Steven Piersanti, Nick Foti and Andrew Muia, a charismatic frontman who aims to honor the stage presence and spirit of Gord Downie on stage.
 
The band has always been passionate about social justice and charity and it is with great pleasure that they announce a partnership with the Hospital for Sick Children and the Herbie fund. The band was introduced to the Herbie fund through Janin and Neil Sanderson who have been involved with the foundation for several years. The band has attended events in support of the Herbie fund in the past and were extremely moved by the stories of not only the children that the foundation has supported but the efforts of the doctors as well. When they were presented with an opportunity to hold a fundraiser of their own, they did not hesitate to choose the Hospital for Sick Children and the Herbie fund as their charity of choice
 
Our goal for this concert is to raise money and awareness toward children’s health both locally and globally. Our aim is to bring live music back to the city, building community in the process. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, the band feels it is extremely important to re engage in music and live performances in a safe environment following the guidelines of Ontario Public Health.
 
It is an honour and a privilege for the band to be a part of this concert.
