Thank you for supporting Giuliano's Journey!

Giuliano was 10 years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  One would never suspect this very active young boy was very sick.  At the time Giuliano was a preparing for his Black Belt in Karate and playing soccer at a competitive level.  After a routine checkup and blood tests Giuliano was rushed to SickKids Hospital and it was confirmed he had Leukemia.  His protocol for treatment was 3 ½ years of continuous chemotherapy, spinal taps, blood transfusions and other harsh treatments.  With his team of doctors and nurses behind him Giuliano pushed himself to continue playing soccer and practising Karate.  By the second day at SickKids, Giuliano told us that he knew why he was there. He said it was because he wanted to help others.  This courteous young man had a list of all the things he wanted to do to help other children going through cancer treatment. His strength and courage and his positive attitude successfully got him through his treatment. He once quoted in an interview with a Canadian Magazine, April 2012, that "if he were King of the World and he had only one wish, it would be to have a cure for cancer because it is taking too long".  In June 2011, Giuliano founded “Giuliano’s Journey.”

Giuliano’s Journey is a non-profit organization seeking to promote education and research funding to help the lives of those children burden with Leukemia.  Leukemia is the number one life threatening childhood illness amongst children in Canada today.  It is our goal to address the reality of childhood cancer and support those dedicated professionals in managing and ultimately finding a cure.  The purpose of our Dinner Dance is to raise funds and awareness for paediatric cancer research with proceeds going to Giuliano’s Foundation at SickKids.

It is Giuliano’s quest to help other children dealing with Leukemia and to ultimately finding a cure so that no children are afflicted with cancer.
