About In Honour of Lola Bower

Thank you for joining us on Saturday October 19th for the Lola Dip 2024.

Our community came together to dip in Lake Ontario and raise funds for SickKids Hospital in memory of Lola, who lived a short 16 days from Oct 23-Nov 8, 2015.

Going into the cold water of Lake Ontario in October is much more manageable with the support and love from family, friends, and the community.

A group dip is an exhilarating experience. A zap to the soul that makes anyone feel more alive than ever!

SickKids Hospital did everything possible for Lola during her life. The Lola Dip raises funds for this amazing hospital as a way to give other children every chance at life.

A donation to Sickkids is much appreciated, but not required to attend the Lola Dip event.

Lola's Story

Lola's heart was literally too big for this tiny world. She spent most of her life at SickKids NICU. Diagnosed with Severe Dilated Cardiomyopathy and enlisted for a heart transplant. Lived for 16 days on this earth but forever in our hearts. We feel blessed and grateful for the care Lola received at SickKids. We miss Lola every day but with your help, her absence is a little less painful as we give meaning to her short life. Her story is helping other kids have a better chance. Thank you for supporting this cause so close to our hearts.

The Lola Dip

Each year around Lola's Birthday (October 23), our community comes together to celebrate Lola's life and raise funds for SickKids. We gather, eat, sing songs, and brave going into Lake Ontario (without wetsuits!) as a symbol of being able to get through challenges with community support and strength.
We hope you can join us next October!
