We have joined Project Halo to help build a new SickKids - designed to better serve patients and families. This will include spaces devoted to parents and caregivers - spaces where we can feel calm, relief and rest, when we are in a time of crisis.
One of the many specialists that we consulted during Olive's diagnosis was the lead physician within the cardiac department of SickKids’. She was kind, considerate and walked us through every single answer to our million questions with patience and grace. Ultimately, comforting us when the realization of what was happening sunk in. Medicine has come so far in its abilities to save lives and with continued support and research it may be able to help many more. We hope that Olive's legacy can contribute to that.
