The Nora Project launched in February 2021 as a series of Instagram auctions featuring stash-busting projects and collaborations with Canadian makers and artists. The overall goal was to raise an average of $50 per project, for a total amount to be donated in Nora’s name. Over the course of two years, over $50,000 was raised through these auctions.
Today, we continue to raise funds through a number of initiatives, most featuring local makers and small businesses… we are proud Northern Ontarians who are in love with our beautiful maker community!
Our Story
Nora joined the GIFT Program at two months old with intestinal failure and continues to receive care under the GIFT team. We are proud advocates for our community medical community, however, the care Nora receives from GIFT is specialized and individualized to her complex needs… Thanks to GIFT’s continuous care and treatment, we are able to keep Nora stabilized and mostly at home in North Bay, ON.
About the GIFT Program
The GIFT Program has changed the landscape and scope of treatment for children with intestinal disorders. They are the first formal multidisciplinary team in Canada — their research and advancements have made a reality possible where we can provide Nora with a babyhood outside of the hospital. For that, we’ll be eternally grateful.
